Vietnam Veterans Day Program

Fellow Veterans,

On Saturday, March 27th, we will be observing and sponsoring Vietnam Veterans Day in Morganton, NC. Our Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp is sponsoring this event, in coordination with our brothers and sisters in our local VA, American Legion, and Marine Corps League.

I need the help of Vietnam Veterans.

Since our Camp was willing to host this event, I have been asked to give the keynote address. Even though I served 2 years in the Marine Corps, I served after Vietnam (1983-2005).

I want to be the voice for all the men and women who served, and for those who never made it home. My father-in-law did 2 tours in Vietnam and I have asked for his testimony to be included in this address, to which I will attribute in his honor. I also have a step grandfather, buried in Arlington, who served in WWII, Korea, and 2 tours in Vietnam. My "other mother" is providing testimony for him.

I will also have some poignant words for my good friend Ted Sampley.

Any help y'all can provide is greatly appreciated and will be done honorably.

Thanks.

Semper Fi and Fortitudine.
